Experiential Tourism With the Inhabitants of Puno 2 Days 1 Night
Enjoy a cruise on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Visit the floating islands of the Uros, enjoy the culture in Amantani, and stop for lunch on the island of Taquile.

Itinerary
Day 1
Puno - Amantani
- Our tour begins with the transfer from your hotel in Puno around 8am.
- Then we will go to the port in Puno, where our local guide will be waiting with the boat to begin our adventure on Lake Titicaca . Once we leave, our guide will explain the important points of this great lake, and after 30 minutes we will arrive at the floating islands of the Uros.
- Here we stop on an island, visit its inhabitants and learn about the customs of these communities that live for years in the highlands
- In the Uros community we take a raft made of reeds and a short walk around the lake (optional).
- Later we return to the boat and continue our journey to the island of Amantani. The trip takes about 3 hours by boat. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by groups of islanders who will provide us with accommodation in their humble homes.
- The afternoon is free to explore on your own or simply share the evening with your host family. Shortly before sunset, our guide will invite you to walk up to a small hill known as Pachatata , where an archaeological complex built by the ancient cultures that inhabited the island long ago is located.
- From this point, we can also see a beautiful sunset. Then we go down to our homes and have dinner with our respective families.
- Later we will see a folklore festival, where we can dance with the local people. Our families give us traditional clothes to attend the party. The women are dressed in very colorful skirts, beautiful blouses, hand embroidery and a black veil. The men will be given a very long Chuyo poncho (typical wool hat from the Andes). Once ready, we will go to the party.
- We will spend the night with a local family.
Day 2
Taquile Island - Return to Puno
- After breakfast, we said goodbye to our family and went down to the pier to continue our visit to the island of Taquile . The trip will take about an hour.
- Taquile is a huge island characterized by beautiful fabrics. Here visitors can see how people on the island make ponchos, belts, gloves and other typical high Andean garments, all made by hand.
- To get to the top of the island, we hiked a beautiful, somewhat inclined path that offers spectacular views of the lake.
- Here we recommend walking slowly and taking it easy, since the altitude is approximately 3800 meters above sea level.
- Afterwards we will have lunch in a typical restaurant around the square.
- After lunch, you will have free time to visit the fabric factories and take pictures with the islanders.
- Later, we will descend to the port to take our boat back to Puno, arriving in the city at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Alojamiento en casa de familia local- The houses are simple. Usually with two or three rooms and kitchen and rooms for the family.
- With the local family they will share lunch and dinner.
- It is an experiential tourism experience.
- An important point is that English is not spoken in these communities. Aymara is the local language.
- Most of the locals also speak Spanish as a second language.
- It is still possible to have a fulfilling and fulfilling experience even though there will be a language barrier.
- Also, the community is very warm and welcoming to all visitors.
- Please note that accommodation and meals will be very basic due to the extremely remote location of these communities.
- Hot showers will not be available and running water is not guaranteed.
